Bio
Brük Dunbar, born 1981 Albuquerque, New Mexico to an artist
mother and naturalist/professor father. She moved to Istanbul,
Turkey at a young age. In 1991 Brük moved back to New
Mexico. As her interest in art began to develop, she began
taking jobs in the field. Realizing that she would rather be an
artist than solely work for them, she applied to the California
College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California. Upon
graduating, Brük set up a studio space in an old Peter Volkous
foundry on the train tracks and remains there today, channelling
spirits of Bay Area Funk movement masters.
